Bio
Russall Beattie has worked in the entertainment industry for 15 years. Starting at a young age, but never wanting to specialize. Russall became a Creative director, working across a large selection of entertainment and media industries.
Graduating with a producing diploma from the Australian film, television and radio school he went on to work in the film and TV industry. Russall also went on to help the development of regional industry as the founder and vice-chairman of the Central Coast Screen Production Alliance (CCSPA). After creating and being the show runner of a 5 part TV series co-produced with the SBS called “The Hard Word”, Russall received the Granada Young Producer Award in 2003; the prize was a trip to work in the UK with Granada Productions.
While in London Russall moved his attention to live events. He began working in a supervisory role in conjunction with the city of London, the Business Design Center, 251 Gallery, MCA and more; he also worked as the tour manager for a number of shows that toured around the UK including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Returning back to Australia, he created the foremost vintage burlesque entertainment company “Sugar Time”. After a few years and a string of sold out events around the country, he began to manage musical artists which he helped released records, toured internationally and went on to appear in TV and Films. At this point Russell started working under the name “Russall S. Beattie” as his professional credit.
In 2010 Russall had the opportunity to become co-owner of a small theatre/ music venue in Sydney called The Vanguard, this pushed Russall to enter the most productive period of his career. Not only curating and running one of the most popular small theatres in Sydney, Russall developed some of his most successful shows such as Dames of Throne, Batman Follies of 1929, BIBA Wizard of Oz, Hail To The King and of course, flagship show “The Empire Strips Back”.
The Empire Strips back started out as a one off event for 100 people but soon developed to become a national theatrical stage show selling 70,000 tickets in Australia alone. Going from strength to strength, the level of creativity bringing a world that has only been experienced on the silver screen to life on stage wowed audiences everywhere it played. 2018 saw The Empire Strips Back embark on its first tour of the United States to rave reviews and sold out audiences.
These shows have now been performed to thousands of people, touring theatres across Australia and established Russall unique style of entertainment which combined his love of cinema with live performance. The success of these shows helped Russall foster a large collection of clients and collaborators such as HBO, Warner Bros, Sydney Film Festival, mc saatchi, Foxtel, Merivale, Netflix, Reedpop, Compari and many more. Who wanted him to work. Working with these brands to design, direct immersive events and live entertainment for TV Premieres, Parties, National Conventions and Festivals.
Russall is currently is working at his highest quality of work to date, producing books, stage shows and films. His focus is taking his unique multi-format brand of entertainment to the international stage.

2018 independently toured The Empire Strips Back Burlesque Show to USA to sold out audience and rave reviews
2018 signed with UTA representation.
2018 released a 212-page photography/ history book “Gotham 1919-1939”
